STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's golf team is 19
th after Monday's opening round of the Saint Mary's Invitational at the Poppy Hills Golf Club in Pebble Beach, California. The Tigers posted an opening round 301 (+19).
No. 6 Stanford is the team leader with a 269 (-15) for an eight-stroke lead in the 54-hole tournament. Jack Avrit of Santa Clara and Craig Ronne of Oregon are the individual co-leaders with a first round 64 (-7).
The Tigers are led by
Griffin Long, who shot a 73 (+2) and is tied for 54
th. The rest of the Pacific lineup includes
Riley Killip posted a 74 (+3) and is tied for 66th.
Leonardo Rigamonti is tied for 85th after posting a 76 (+5),
Petr Janik is tied for 97th with a 78 (+7) and
Thomas O'Rourke is 104th with an 82 (+11). As an individual,
Haakon Mathiesen is 85th after posting a 76 (+5).
As a team, Pacific recorded 56 pars which are tied for fifth in the field. Killip, O'Rourke and Rigamonti each had 12 pars for the Tigers.
Tuesday's second round will get underway at 9:55 a.m. as Long will tee off No. 10.
