ITA Regionals Results Write-up 
 
Wednesday was the first day of the WCC Men's Tennis Regionals. The teams started with doubles as Liam Puttergill teamed up with Coby McCaig and beat Nevada's Campi and Marchand 8-7, while Peter Alam and Manroop Saini fell to Brinkman and Necz from UC Davis 8-4. 
 
After going even in doubles play, the singles action started. Russell Henderson stormed past St. Mary's Jakob Ortiveros, 6-1 6-2. Ran Amar also picked up his first win as a Tiger against Cal Berkeley's Michael Wright in an epic battle – 4-6 6-4 7-5. McCaig, Saini, Alam and 
Puttergill were unable to get a win against their respective opponents.  
 
After Day One the Tigers were 3-5 overall, 1-1 in doubles and 2-4 in singles play. 
 
Thursday started with doubles once again. Alam and Saini defeated Bell and Ali, from Santa Clara, 8-2, in the consolation bracket. Puttergill and McCaig fell to Chang and Overbeck from Cal Berkeley, 4-8. In main draw singles play, Ran Amar fell to San Francisco's Phuc Huynh 6-2 6-3. Highlight of the day was Russell Henderson who defeated the #2 seed from Cal Berkeley, Carl Overbeck in a gutsy performance, 6-3 4-6 6-2. In the consolation bracket, Alam, McCaig and Puttergill were all victorious in their matchups to help the Tigers to a positive record for the day. 
 
The Tigers went 5-3 as a team in day two which helped improve the team to 8-8 overall in the tournament. 
 
Day 3 started off with a bang for the Tigers with Peter Alam and Manroop Saini winning in an absolute battle against a strong Sacramento State pair – 8-7 (7-3). The singles matches did not follow suit with the Tigers being swept, Russell Henderson lost in a close match against a strong Stanford player, Tomas Kopczynski – 1-6, 7-6, 3-6. Alam, Puttergill and McCaig, all lost their singles matches to Nevada, Santa Clara and USF respectively. 
 
The Tigers ended the tournament with a final team record of 9-12 with a few great individual wins. 
 
"This was a great tournament for our development. Said Head Coach Robin Goodman "We played many high-quality matches and the guys showed improvement from the UC Davis tournament. These match experiences are invaluable for us and I am eager to see more improvements at our home tournament at the beginning of November."
