Box Score SAN DIEGO, Calif. – Sophomore Christof Schaertlin Coffey dueled for nearly three hours against LMU on singles court six, ultimate pulling out the third set tiebreaker to give Pacific the 4-3 win and send the program into the WCC Conference Tournament semifinals on Thursday afternoon at the Aztec Tennis Center.

The sophomore battled through three tightly contested sets to win his 11th match of the season – needing seven games to take set one and pushing his opponent to need seven games in set two. The final tiebreaker was decided by a 7-5 score as well.

Setting the stage for Schaertlin Coffey were Pacific's (15-8) two singles All-Conference selections in junior Tiago Silva and senior Justas Trainauskas.

The former flashed his grit to pull out a tiebreaker in set one and then a 6-4 triumph in set two to clinch the second point of the afternoon. The win is Silva's team leading 12th of the season and extends his winning streak to four straight appearances and 6-1 against WCC opposition.

Trainauskas, meanwhile, erased a one set deficit on court two to tally the team's third point. With the three-set victory, the senior reaches ten singles wins on the season.

Both Silva and Trainauskas were involved in getting the Tigers out to a 1-0 lead after the doubles portion. Silva, on court three with freshman Vraj Patel, won 6-3 while Trainauskas and freshman Jonty Giesen on court two also pulled out a 6-3 win.

In winning the match, Pacific will meet top-seeded San Diego in the semifinals – looking to avenge a regular season defeat to the Toreros. First serve is scheduled for 1:30 at the Aztec Tennis Center.
