Goodman was named the head coach of the Tigers on July 17, 2020 and is coaching the team for the fourth year in 2023-24. The Tigers have gained national notoriety during Goodman's tenure, sending a doubles team to the ITA National Championship in the fall of 2023. The previous fall, Ran Amar advanced to the semifinals of the ITA Super Regionals.
During the 2024-25 season, Goodman oversaw a 15-9 Pacific team that went to the semifinals of the WCC tournament. Under his direction, the Tigers reached as high as 49th nationally in the rankings and his doubles pair on court one, sophomore Christof Schaertlin Coffey and graduate Ran Amar, reached 36th in the national doubles rankings. Three more Tigers reached double digit wins on the singles court including senior Justas Trainauskas and sophomore Christof Schaertlin Coffey. The Tiger season was highlighted by the program's first road win over Pepperdine and two comeback wins over LMU.
In 2022-23, the program saw the rise of the program led by junior Ran Amar, who saw his ITA singles ranking rise to #120 after a stellar fall that included reaching the semifinals of the ITA Super Regionals. He recorded seven straight wins in the tournament. Teammate Terence Das reached the quarterfinals, giving Pacific a strong showing. Amar followed that up with a eight singles wins during the spring season, including an 8-6 mark at #2 singles. Amar and Das had a 7-2 record at #2 doubles. Das also had eight singles wins, competing primarily at #3 singles. Peter Alam picked up seven wins at #1 singles. Pacific finished with a 5-15 overall mark in the spring, including a 2-7 WCC record with conference wins over Gonzaga and San Francisco. Amar was a All-WCC Second-Team honoree.
The 2021-22 season was the first season for Goodman as the head coach. The Tigers went 6-17 with a 2-7 record in conference with wins over BYU and Loyola Marymount. Amar was named an honorable mention All-WCC selection.
In 2020-21, Goodman's first year on campus,, the team did not compete due to COVID-19 concerns.
Goodman came to Pacific after serving as the assistant coach at New Mexico. In his time with the Lobos, Goodman established a formidable pairing with head coach Ben Dunbar. Working with Dunbar from the start of his tenure, UNM was 46-39 in his four years in Albuquerque, including a conference title in 2019 after UNM went undefeated in Mountain West play.
While with UNM, Goodman handled all facets of coaching and administration of the program, including recruiting, aiding with the scheduling of matches, on-the-court coaching, overseeing academics and managing UNM's travel logistics as well as their community outreach programs.
Prior to his time with the Lobos, Goodman spent two seasons at Baylor University. During his two seasons with the Bears, Goodman assisted Baylor head coach Matt Knoll, helping the Bears to the NCAA Tournament twice, including an appearance in the NCAA Championship semifinals in 2015. At the end of 2015, Baylor would rank No. 3 in the national polls, the program's highest ranking since 2005, when Baylor was No. 2 in the country.
Individually, Goodman coached Baylor's Julian Lenz, who was ranked No. 1 in 2015, and finished ranked No. 4 in 2015 and No. 12 in 2016.
Before joining the Baylor staff, Goodman spent four seasons in Des Moines, Iowa, as a member of the Drake men's tennis program. Racking up 111 career singles wins, he was a two-time All-Missouri Valley Conference selection in addition to being named the All-Missouri Valley Player of the Week three times during his senior year. Additionally, Goodman was a two-time first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete award winner and finished with the fifth-most career victories in program history.
Originally from Cambridge, England, Goodman graduated in May of 2014 from Drake University with a degree in business management.
