STOCKTON, Calif. - The Pacific men's golf team finished ninth at the Visit Stockton Invite on Saturday. The Tigers posted a 54-hole total of five-under, 847 (282-283-282).
Washington State took home the team title by one stroke over St. Mary's (CA) with a 36-under, 816 (268-274-274). The Cougars also had the individual winner as Max Sekulic climbed up four spot with a final round, nine-under 62 for a one stroke victory and 54-hole total of 197 (67-68-62).
The Tigers shot 179 pars over the course of 54 holes which were tied for the second most in the field to go along with 46 birdies. In comparison, team champion Washington State had 160 pars, 67 birdies and 2 eagles.
The Pacific lineup saw
Maverick Pavletich move up three spots to finish in the top 10 for the second time in four tournaments with a tie of 10th place overall. Pavletich posted a 54-hole total of seven-under, 206 (69-68-69).
Griffin Long moved up eight spots in Saturday's final round with a 70 for a 54-hole total of two under, 211 (70-71-70).
Leonardo Rigamonti improved by one spot to finish tied for 49th with a 215 (72-72-71).
Thomas O'Rourke finished tied for 61st with a 218 (72-72-74) and
Haakon Mathiesen was 68th with a 219 (71-76-72).
Pacific individuals,
Riley Killip – tied for 52nd with a 216 (70-70-76);
Petr Janik – 70th with a 221 (70-76-75);
Alex Barclay – 85th with a 229 (72-78-79).
The Tigers will next play in its final tournament of the fall at the Saint Mary's Invitational, Nov. 8-10 at Poppy Hills Golf Course in Moraga, Calif.
