LAST TIME OUT:
- The Tigers secured a thriller in Long Beach last weekend, defeating the No. 6 Beach 13-12 on the heels of four goals from Djordje Stanic. The freshman's four scores tied a season high and earned him GCC Player of the Week, the second such honor for a Tiger this season.
- In two of their last three matches, Pacific has found the game-winning goal with less than 15 seconds remaining in the contest, having previously defeated No. 5 UCSB (Oct. 20), 17-16, on a highlight-reel goal from Luis Araya with twelves seconds left on the game clock.
THANK YOU SENIORS:
- Five seniors will be playing their final match at Chris Kjledsen Pool when the Tigers and Anteaters clash on Saturday: Engin Ege Colak, Luke Pavillard, Luis Araya, Jay Halva and Andrea De Nardi.
- In what has proved to be one of the most talented senior classes in the program's history, the five seniors have combined for 659 goals, 265 assists and 924 total points during their time at Pacific entering Saturday's contest.
TALE OF THE TAPE:
- Pacific and UC Irvine are meeting for the 52nd time overall with the Anteaters holding a 39-12 advantage.
- UOP enters Saturday on a three-match win streak – with all three coming over ranked opponents – while the Anteaters will look to break an eight-match skid.
- This is the first meeting between the two schools in 2019. Pacific took all three contests last season against the Anteaters, including a 9-8 win in the GCC Semifinals on Nov. 17, 2018.
ON THE PROWL:
- Pavillard has made quite a splash in his final season with the Tigers as he continues his chase for a third straight GCC Player of the Year award in his final match in Stockton. With just two matches remaining in the regular season, the Perth, Australia native currently ranks fourth among GCC competitors with 48 goals, 27 assists, 25 assists and second with 75 total points. Additionally, Pavillard leads the GCC in assists per game (1.59), steals per game (1.47) and points per game (4.41).
- Stanic and Pavillard are neck and neck with 27 assists each on the year, good for first on the team and fourth place in the conference.
- Continuing his stellar season in the cage, redshirt freshman Jonathan Barry is currently third in the conference in overall saves (134) and fourth in saves per game (7.88).
