Tigers Start Season On The Paloose

Pullman, Wash. - The Tigers will be heading up to eastern Washington to take part in the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate Tournament at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club in Pullman, Washington this September.  The tournament, hosted by Washington State, will start today and end on Tuesday, September 13.  It is the first action of the year for Pacific.

Pacific has not played at the Palouse Ridge Golf Club since 2013, when the NCAA Regionals were hosted there.  The Tigers finished seventh overall that year among 18 total teams.  The Tigers have never taken part in the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate before.

Traveling to Pullman for the Itani Quality Homes Collegiate Tournament will be Geoff Fry, Tyler Burnes, James Feutz, Anthony Madrid, and Austin Fox.

Fry had Pacific's top individual finish last season, getting fifth at the Del Walker Intercollegiate.  His low on 18 last year was a 68.  Burnes shot a 67 last season, the second-lowest 18-hole score of any Tiger.  Feutz and Madrid each had season-bests of 72 on 18 holes while Fox will be taking part in his first collegiate tournament.

Joining Pacific in Pullman from the WCC will be Gonzaga.  Also there will be British Columbia, Cal State Fullerton, Idaho, Sacramento State, San Jose State, Seattle University, South Dakota, Utah, Texas-Rio Grande Valley, Utah Valley, and Western Washington.

It is the eighth year in a row that Washington State has hosted a tournament.  Last season, WSU came out in first with a scored of -33 over the two-day tourney.
