Box Score Hanover, N.H. – Once again the Pacific Tigers rolled to victory, defeating Dartmouth 6-1 for their second win in as many games. The last time Pacific scored six goals was 2014, when they beat Appalachian State 6-1.
Laura Pujade stopped five of the six shots she faced in the goal, getting her second win of the year. Pujade has now stopped 13 of the last 16 shots she's faced.
The offense picked up where it left off from yesterday's five-goal outburst, peppering Dartmouth with four shots in the first five minutes. Dartmouth recorded the first shot of the game, followed by eight straight for the Tigers before the home team was able to get another shot 16 minutes in.
For the fourth game in a row, the Tigers scored first, this time with Taylor Dempsey picking up her second career goal. It quickly became three goals in two minutes thanks to Burns once again, who ended up with a four-point half. Burns made it two games in a row with four goals in the first half for Pacific when she scored on a corner play. Katharine Egan and Rylee Comeau picked up the assists as they got the ball to Burns off the set play.
4:29 into the second half, Dempsey made it 5-0 with her first ever multi-point game. The shot off the corner was tipped by Morrison and knocked away by the goalie. Dempsey was there for the rebound, calmly potting Pacific's fifth goal of the game.
The Big Green picked up a goal to scratch a little closer when a yellow card put Pacific down a player. Egan made two defensive saves in a row after Pujade stopped an initial shot and had to hustle back into position. The fourth shot in the sequence got Dartmouth a goal, however, making it 5-1.
The Tigers stretched their lead back to five goals thanks to Morrison's second of the game, coming at 64:41. Pacific earned a penalty corner after a stretch of dangerous shots. That goal gave Morrison multiple goals in a game for the first time in her career.
Pacific has one more road game before returning home. The Tigers will play the Vermont Catamounts on Tuesday at 8:00 am and then head back to Stockton. Their next home game will be Sunday, September 18 against Drexel at 1:00 pm.
