Box Score The Pacific Tigers fell to the No. 14 Delaware Blue Hens Sunday morning, losing 1-0 after a first half goal by Delaware's Lisa Giezeman. The Delaware defense was able to hold Pacific scoreless, with a late shot by Savannah Burns coming as the best chance for the Tigers. The loss moves Pacific's record to 3-4 this season. Delaware remains undefeated, with their record now standing at 8-0.
Laura Pujade made seven saves in net for the Tigers, her second-highest total this season. Pujade has now allowed just two goals in her last 195 minutes of play, stretching over three games. Pujade has a .733 save percentage this season, including a .909 save percentage over the last three games. Last season, Pujade had a .730 save percentage.
The Tigers pulled Pujade for the last 54 seconds of the game in order to get an extra attacker and try to tie the game. Unfortunately, the Delaware defense held, allowing the Blue Hens to come away with a 1-0 win. Pacific had a late penalty corner at 67:43, resulting in Burns' shot on goal. It was the only penalty corner of the game for Pacific.
Giezeman's goal came at 27:56, with the assist going to Marjelle Scheffers. It was Giezeman's ninth goal this season.
Next on the docket for the Tigers is a road game against the UC Davis Aggies in Pacific's first conference game as a member of the America East Conference on Friday at 2:00 PM. Pacific will next play at home Sunday at noon when they take on Missouri State.
