Malibu, Calif. – The Pacific men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision at No. 40 Pepperdine on Friday, April 17. The Tigers fell to 8-16 overall and 5-3 in WCC play, while Pepperdine improved 14-8 overall and 6-2 in WCC play.
Marlon Brand and Sem Verbeek won at No. 2 doubles for Pacific, but the Waves took the doubles point and won three singles encounters to take the match.
"Today was a tough one to swallow." said Head Coach Ryan Redondo, "It was not the way I envisioned this team competing against the Waves today. We had four or five match points in doubles and just didn't go for it. From there, Pepperdine really took the momentum and got on us early. I thought they did a much better job than we did when it came to all matters of the game. We will have to regroup quickly because LMU is going to be a tough battle."
The Tigers are next in action with a road match at Loyola Marymount on Saturday, April 18. The match is set for 1:00 p.m. at the LMU Tennis Center. It's Pacific's final regular season match.
