Davis, Calif. - Taylor Adair scored five goals while Gracie Smith added three as Pacific split the final day of the Aggie Shootout. The Tigers posted an 8-5 win over No. 20 Santa Clara, but fell by the same score to No. 10 UC Davis.
Michele Relton posted 11 saves versus UC Davis and seven against Santa Clara.
Anna Kertes and Rachel kreiger each tallied two goals while Brydie Pye also got on the scoresheet with a goal.
Against Santa Clara, Pacific received two first-quarter goals from Adair, but after each, the Broncos answered. Smith's goal with 2:13 to go before the end of quarter gave the Tigers a 3-2 lead.
Santa Clara evened it up with a 6-on-5 goal, but Smith responded for the lead. Again the Bronco answered.
Kertes gave Pacific the lead for good with a third-quarter score, and Kreiger finished 6-on-5 as the Tigers led 6-4 after three.
Kertes and Kreiger each scored in the fourth to stretch the lead to 8-4 before the Bronocs' finished with 30 seconds left.
Julia Peters posted a hat-trick for Santa Clara.
In the finale, Adair scored first on the advantage, but UC Davis reeled off five straight goals to take a 5-1 lead into halftime. Adiar trimmed the gap to 5-2 in the third quarter, but the Aggies responded.
Pye's goal cut the Tigers' deficit to 6-3, before Smith kept Pacific within 7-4 with 3:31 remaining.
But the Aggies immediately answered and posted the stop on defense, and Pacific couldn't only add a goal with four seconds left to settle on the 8-5 margin.

The Tigers move to 6-7 on the season and will head to San Diego next weekend for a Golden Coast Conference game against SDSU, and tournament action versus Princeton, Indiana and Bucknell.
