Tigers Take Down No. 68 Portland 4-2

Stockton, Calif. – The Pacific men's tennis team won a 4-2 over No. 68 Portland a the Hal Nelson Tennis Courts in West Coast Conference play on Saturday, March 28.  The Tigers improved to 6-14 overall and 3-2 in WCC play, while Portland dropped to 9-4 overall and 2-1 in WCC action.

The Tigers took the doubles point with wins at No. 2 (Daniel Alameh/Marlon Brand) and No. 3 (Bernardo Oliveira/Alex Giannini) while Miguel Diaz, Daniel Alameh, Jose Chamba and Ashwin Sharma picked up singles wins to secure the match victory for Pacific.

"I am so proud of this team." Head Coach Ryan Redondo said, "This was a classic collegiate tennis team victory.  In all spots and on the sideline it was one heartbeat.  We were down 0-4 at No. 3 doubles and came back and won 7-6, down 2-5 at No. 2 and won 7-6 to earn the doubles point.  From there, it was all Tiger spirit.  So much learning, so much enthusiasm to improve.  We have one match against BYU next week and that's what we are focusing on.  Never content."

The Tigers are next in action at BYU for another West Coast Conference match on Friday, April 3 at 11:00 a.m.
