Stockton, Calif. – The Pacific men's tennis team won a 4-2 decision with a home victory over Gonzaga in West Coast Conference play on Friday, March 27. The Tigers improved to 5-14 overall, and 2-2 in WCC play, while Gonzaga drops 9-4 overall, and 1-2 in WCC action. Pacific has won three out its last four matches.
The Tigers took the doubles point with wins at No. 2 and No. 3. Jose Chamba, Bernardo Oliveira, and Ashwin Sharma picked up singles wins to secure the match victory.
"It was a great team victory." said Head Coach Ryan Redondo, "I am really proud of the guys and think that they came together to earn this win. There has been lots of learning and we aren't content. As far as I am concerned Portland is all we are concerned with at this moment."
The Tigers are next in action against Portland on Saturday, March 28. The match is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Hal Nelson Tennis Courts.
