Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific men's tennis team swept Saint Mary's 7-0 on Saturday, March 21 at the Hal Nelson Tennis Courts. The Tigers improved to 4-13 on the season and 1-2 in West Coast Conferene play, while the Gaels dropped to 3-10 and 0-2 in WCC matches.
The Tigers took the doubles point, as the teams of Marlon Brand and Daniel Alameh at No. 2 and Alex Hamilton and Bernardo Oliveira at No. 3 picked up victories. It was then a clean sweep across singles for the Tigers, as Miguel Diaz, Hamilton, Jose Chamba, Alameh, Brand and Ashwin Sharma all won their singles matches to give Pacific the victory.
"This was a good weekend for the team," said Head Coach Ryan Redondo. "We had solid competition and we had a lot to get through. I thought that we had some guys stick to our discipline much more then they have this season. We have a great opportunity at Oregon on Monday and then right back into it WCC."
Pacific is back in action on Monday, March 23 with a road match at Oregon at 11:00 a.m.
