Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific men's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision against Idaho on Sunday, March 1 on the final day of the Pacific Mountain Invitational at the Hal Nelson Tennis Courts. The Tigers are now 2-10 overall, while Idaho improved to 7-2.
Pacific took the doubles point with two victories by partners Jose Chamba and Miguel Diaz, and Marlon Brand and Sem Verbeek. Brand secured the first singles match point, winning 6-2 and 6-0. Jose Chamba picked up another singles point for the Tigers with a 7-6 and 6-4. In the final singles match, Idaho's Odon Barta secured the team victory with a 3-6, 6-2, 6-2 win over Miguel Diaz at No. 1.
San Francisco claimed the Pacific Mountain Invitation title with a 4-3 win over New Mexico.
The Tigers are next in action with a home match on Thursday, Mar. 12 against Utah Sate.
