Stockton, Calif. - Sem Verbeek won the Flight A singles and teamed with Kumara Pardha Adavelly to win the Flight A doubles crown at the Pacific Tigers Invitational Sunday.
Verbeek swept Bryce McKelvie in the Flight A singles, 6-2, 6-0, to win the bracket.
"It was a progression," Verbeek said of his game. "I started off not being very disciplined. Thanks to coach in the beginning, I got my game going through out the tournament and played my best match at the end."
Verbeek and Adavelly posted a 6-3 victory over Tommy Lam and Bryce McKelvie of UC Davis to take the doubles title.
"He did a wonderful job serving, throughout out the tournament," Verbeek said of Adavelly. "He kept us in the games with his serving and after a rocky start today, we picked it up and closed it out as a team. Definitely a good partnership going forward into the future."
In the doubles Flight B final, Lance Ngo and Bernardo Oliveira fell, 6-3, to Eli Whittle and Jesse Ross of UC Davis.
In singles consolation play, Ngo fell in the Flight B consolationfinals to Eli Whittle of UC Davis, 6-2, 6-3.
