Davis, Calif. - The Pacific men's tennis team opened the 2015 spring season with a 5-2 loss at UC Davis on Saturday, Jan. 17. The Tigers opened the season 0-1, while UCD improved to 1-1.
The Tigers took the doubles with victories by the teams of Sem Verbeek and Alex Hamilton and Miguel Diaz and Jose Chamba. Chamba also picked up a 3-6, 6-2, 6-1 victory over Bryce McKelvie in his Tiger debut.
"We came out with the doubles point after being down in a couple of the matches," said Head Coach Ryan Redondo. "From there, Davis got on top of us early to their credit.  They wanted it more and it was evident. We have a quick turn around and play CAL on Monday and will need to continue to improve."
