Tampa, Fla. - In their final tournament before the Big West Championships, the Pacific golf team finished day one of the Gary Koch Invitational in 13th place on Monday, April 8. The Tigers' up-and-down play left Pacific at +24 for the day as the team posted a 600 over the two rounds of action.
Individually, Pacific picked up a pair of 69s in the first day of action as sophomore Eric Sugimoto posted the first of day in opening round action while senior Alex Edfort added a second over the afternoon's round. For Edfort, the senior's -3, 69 in round two balanced a rough opening round of 77 as he moved up to 29th overall with a two-round total of 146, +2. Sugimoto, ended his day at one stroke back of Edfort at +3, as the sophomore tallied a 78 in round two after opening the day with a 69.
The Tigers will play their final round at the Gary Koch Invitational on Tuesday, April 9 as they prepare for their final Big West Conference Championship in late April.
