Game Notes

Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific women's basketball team opens the 2013-14 season with an exhibition tune-up against Cal State East Bay on Friday, at 7 p.m. at the Spanos Center.

The Tigers, coming off a program-record 27 wins last year, sport a new look for 2013-14 after graduating five seniors and losing four starters.

Pacific reloaded with freshmen and transfers. The Tigers have eight players who didn't suit up for Pacific last season on the 2013-14 roster. Erin Butler was with the program, but sat out due to transfer rules after joining Pacific from Arizona. KiKi Moore, a First Team All-Mountain West selection at Fresno State, is eligible to play right away after graduating with a year of eligibility left. 2011-12 Division I players Marjorie Heard (Washington) and Madison Parrish (Fresno State) join Pacific after spending last season at junior colleges. Halie Bergman, Emily Simons, Unique Coleman and Jasmine Jenkins join the Tigers as true freshmen.

Seniors Shanice Butler and Sam Pettinger are among the six returning players who will suit up for Pacific in 2013-14. Both played key roles off the bench last season for the Tigers, with Pettinger in a jack-of-all-trades role, seeing time at all three backcourt positions and handing out 42 assists while scoring five or more points 11 times. Butler turned in three double-digit scoring efforts in the post for Pacific.

The lone returning starter who will suit up for the Tigers this season is forward Kendall Kenyon, the Second Team All-Big West selection averaged nearly a double-double last season with 10.5 points and 9.7 rebounds per game while setting school records for blocks and rebounds in a season.

Junior guards Claire Conricode and Kristina Johnson also return. Conricode connected on 35 percent from three-point range on the season, averaging nine minutes a game. Johnson handed out 44 assists as the backup point guard while recording 52 steals.

Redshirt sophomore guard Hailie Eackles showed a scoring flair in limited duty last season, averaging 14.6 points per 40 minutes. She tallied a career-high 10 points in 15 minutes of action against CSU Bakersfield.

The Pioneers went 16-11 last season, including 14-8 in CCAA play in Division I.

The Tigers open the regular season next Friday, Nov. 8, at home against Cal State Stanislaus at 7 p.m. in the Spanos Center.
