Bremerton, Wash. - Closing out play at the 2012 Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational, the Pacific golf team posted an 11th place finish at the annual event on Tuesday, September 18. For Pacific, the final round of action saw the Tigers post a 301 to finish their two-day event at 912, +48. The host Huskies were the lone team to shoot underpar as Washington tallied a -2, 862 over the three rounds.
Individually, senior Alex Edfort carded the Tigers' best score of the tournament on the final day of action as the Somerset, N.J. native shot a -1, 71 in round three. His 71 tied for the fifth-best score of the day and pushed the senior into a tie for 13th place overall at +4 for his tournament. Pacific's second best round of the day came from sophomore Eric Sugimoto who shot a +1, 73 to finish the tournament in a tie for 22nd at +7.
The individual title went to Washington's Cheng-Tsung Pan who went four-over on the final day but held on for a four-shot victory with a three-round score of -5, 211. Just three golfers made their way under-par for the tournament as Washington took all three of the top positions on the podium at their home event.
Pacific will get back to work on the course in just under a month as the Tigers head to Raleigh, NC to take part in the Rod Meyers Invitational hosted by Duke. The tournament will tee-off on October 13th with two rounds before finishing off the final round of action on October 14th.
