Tampa, Fla. - Completing play at the Gary Koch Invitational in Tampa, Fla., the Pacific golf team finished in a tie for 8th place overall on Sunday, April 8. The Tigers tied with Georgia Southern at +34 for the three-round tournament as the 15 team field chased North Florida from the outset. The North Florida golf team took home the tournament championship by shooting a three-round score at 21-under par, beating the field by more than 20 strokes.
Individually, the Tigers were led by their junior, Alex Edfort, who posted a -1, 71 on the final day of action to take home a fifth place finish. The Somerset, N.J. native had himself in contention throughout the two days of play and finished four strokes back of the tournament champion, Joey Petronio. Petronio led the way for North Florida at eight-under par as the Ospreys took three of the top five spots at the tournament.
Pacific will hit the course again on April 20, as the Tigers play at the three-day Winchester Intercollegiate in Meadow Vista, Calif.
