Santa Barbara, Calif. - Finishing their road trip to the Central Coast, the Pacific men's tennis team dropped a 7-0 decision to UC Santa Barbara (UCSB) on Sunday, April 1. The loss dropped the Tigers to 6-11 on the year and 1-2 in Big West play while the Gauchos improved to 11-7 overall, 3-1 in the Big West.
In a day in which the Tigers tried to get back on track after suffering their first Big West loss of the season a day prior, the rebound was not to be as the Gauchos shutdown Pacific's game throughout the day to take all seven matches played. Pacific struggled to get on track against UCSB as the Gauchos took control of the match early with a sweep of the doubles matches that set up their day. In singles, the Tigers battled, but fell in all six matches with Erik Cederwall and Alex Hamilton forcing decisive third sets before succumbing to their Gaucho opponent.
Pacific will be back in action on Saturday, April 7, as the Tigers jump out of conference action to take on Fresno State on the road. The match is scheduled for 11:00 am.
