The Tigers came up short against nationally ranked No. 47 UC Irvine with a final score of 5-2 at their second to last match of the season. This loss brings their season record to 10-10 and their conference record to 2-2.
In the doubles events, partners Artem Gramma and Tomasz Krzyszkowski defeated opponents Cheung and Matthews 8-6. The singles events proved to be a couple of the Tigers specialties today. FernandoRistow defeated his opponent with a confident 6-3, 6-3; and Alex Golding fought through his match to earn a final score of 1-6, 7-5, 10-7 in the Tiger's favor. Alex made a tremendous comeback after having a first set score of 1-6 to earn the next set with 7-5. Alex then had to remain focused for the 10 point super tiebreaker in which he was able to manage the win with a final 10-7 score.
The Tigers now prepare to face UC Davis on April 23rd in Davis, California for their last match of the spring season.
