Ball Ground, Ga. -
Playing at prestigious Callaway Match-Play Championship at Hawks Ridge Golf Club in Ball Ground, Ga., the No. 12 seeded Pacific golf team fell in the first round of play to the No. 5 seeded Texas A&M Aggies, 3-1-1, on Saturday, March 20. Despite the loss the Tigers would rebound to take down the No. 13 seeded Bears of Baylor in round 2 consolation play as Baylor fell in its opening match against No. 4 seed Illinois.
In the opening round of action, the Tigers fell behind early as junior Danny Garcia fell 7 and 5 to John Hurley. Just as he did earlier in the day, Bordeaux picked up another 1up win for Pacific as the senior outdueled Ryan O'Rear. Joining Bordeaux with wins in the match were Kucich and Garcia as Kucich picked up the Tigers biggest win of the afternoon at 3 and 2 over Cody Paladino while Garcia defeated Matthew Seligmann, 2up.
The Tigers will play their second round of consolation action on Monday, March 21 when they take on the No. 8 seeded Bulldogs of Georgia in round three. The Bulldogs fell to No. 9 seed Texas Tech in round one before defeating No. 16 seed South Carolina in the first round of consolation play.
