Tigers Fall Back To 8th At The Cabo invitational

Oct. 3, 2010

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico - Playing in much the same fashion as they did in round one of the Cabo Invitational, hosted by Santa Clara, the Pacific golf team battled with consistency as they fell back to 8th place at the tournament. On the second day of play at the Querencia Golf Course, the Tigers shot a +14, 302, to post a +30, 606, for the first two rounds. Heading into the final day of the invitational, the Tigers and the rest of the 12 team field will be chasing No. 23 Arkansas after the Razorbacks jumped into first place by shooting -8, 280 in round two to tally a +1, 577 for the tournament.

Individually, senior T.J. Bordeuax (Tacoma, Wash.) continued to lead the way for the Tigers as he followed up his +1, 73, from day one with an identical score for day two. The senior posted a much more consistent round than the day before as he bogeyed just two holes throughout the round while birdying the par-four fifth. Bordeaux currently sits inside of the top-10 individually for the tournament as his +2, 146 places him into a tie for ninth among all competitors. Kelly Kraft of SMU leads the tournament after day two after posting a -7, 65, in the second round after shooting even-par in round one.

Outside of Bordeaux, the Tigers saw senior Ales Johnson (Tucson, Ariz.) carded a second +4, 76, in day two of the invitational to put himself into a tie for 31st overall with a two round total of +8, 152.

The Tigers will close out the Cabo Invitational on Monday, October 4, when they tee-off at 10:00 am at the Querencia Golf Course.
