Fresno, California - The Pacific Golf team improved their position and moved up a spot to ninth place after a second round 295 at Belmont Country Club Monday afternoon. Led by sophomore TJ Bordeaux's 76-72, the Tigers closed out the first two rounds at +21 at the 6,511-yard, par 72 course.
Just seven strokes out of third place the Tigers shot a 36-hole score of 305-295. Bordeaux's +4 has him in 20th place while Alex Johnson and Charlie Van Sicklen shot second rounds of 77 and 74 to tie at 150 through day one.
the chilly temperatures and gusts of winds didn't do much to deter Top 30 teams' UC Davis and Washington for tying for the lead at +8.
"This course isn't unlike what we're used to playing (local Elkhorn Country Club)" said head coach Brandon Goethals. "We weren't very precise with our shotmaking this morning but I look for that to improve tomorrow as the guys get a little more used to the conditions and the greens."
