Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific men's tennis team swept the Montana Grizzlies, 7-0, at home on Thursday, March 26 at the Hal Nelson Tennis Courts. The Tigers rose to an overall 8-4 record while the Grizzlies dropped to 3-4.

Pacific captured the doubles point with senior Moritz Starke (Bamberg, Germany) and junior Renan Delsin (Santa Cruz da Conceicao, Brazil) easily defeating the Grizzlies' Mikolaj Borkowski and Carl Kuschke in the No. 1 position, 8-1. Following a Montana win at the No. 2 slot, the Tigers also claimed the No. 3 position doubles match as junior Vegerd Veskimagi (Saku, Estonia) and freshman Karl-Erik Paaro (Tallinn, Estonia) downed David Cysneiros and Colin Dektar, 8-4, to secure the first team point.

In singals action the Tigers played strong conquering all six matches, highlighted by a 6-0, 6-1 win for Starke at the top spot over Montana's Colin Dektar. Shortly thereafter, freshman Ryan Kim (Elk Grove, Calif.) motored past David Cysneiros, 6-1, 6-1.

Pacific claimed the ensuing three matches in straight sets, then Delsin battled Montana's Mikolaj Borkowski for the No. 2 position. Delsin won the first set, 6-2, but Borkowski conquered the second set, 6-2. Finally Delsin pushed back to win the match in a third set tie breaker, 7-6 (4).

Pacific next returns to action on Satday, March 28, when they host University of Califonia, Santa Barbara at the Hal Nelson Tennis Courts. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m.
