Federal Way, Wash. - Members of the Pacific men's and women's swim team returned to the pool for day two of the USA Short Course Nationals, on Friday, Dec. 4.
The women's relay team of seniors Devonie Migues (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) and Melissa McGhee (Elk Grove, Calif.), sophomore Jayme Swalin (Kenmore, Wash.), and freshman Mallory McGowan (Colusa, Calif.), combined for a time of 1:48.62 in the 200 Medley Relay to place 24th in the event. This same relay squad competed in the 800 Free and took 28th with a time of 7:47.37.
In the 400 IM, KC Albistion (Salt Lake City, Utah) touched the wall at 4:30.69 to finish 50th while McGhee touched at 4:30.98 to finish 51st.
Sophomore Elena Walterman (Framingham, Mass.) placed 39th in the 100 Fly, posting a time of 56.55. Freshman Allie Vetterlein (Seattle, Wash.) finished 100th with a time of 59.45.
McGowan took 68th in the 100 Breast finishing with a time of 1:06.48. For the men, freshman Chris Weber (Valencia, Calif.) completed the 100 Breast in 59.43 to finish 70th.
Sophomore Kevin Byers (Puyallup, Wash.) swam both the 400 IM and the 100 Back. In the 400 IM, Byers finished 30th with a time of 4:10.93. Byers completed the 100 Back in 53.49 to finish 67th. On the women's side, Migues finished 40th in the 100 Back with a time of 57.09.
The Tigers will swim in final day of USA Short Course Nationals on Saturday, Dec 4.
