Tigers Devour Roadrunners, 151-109

Stockton, Calif. - Pacific women's swim team defeated the Cal State Bakersfield by a score of 151-109, on Saturday, October 31. This victory improves the Tigers dual meet record to 2-1 on the season.

Starting off the day, the Tigers quickly took a lead when the relay team, consisting of seniors Devonie Migues (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) and Melissa McGhee (Elk Grove, Calif.), sophomore Jayme Swalin (Kenmore, Wash.), and freshman Mallory McGowan (Colusa, Calif.), took first-place, finishing with a time of 1:49.47.

Freshman Jenna Chaplin (Nassau, Bahamas) and sophomore Ellen Barton (Modesto, Calif.) took first and second-place respectively, with time of 10:58.39 and 11:15.45.

In the 200 Free, senior KC Albiston (Salt Lake City, Utah) captured first-place by touching wall at 1:56.74, just before teammate, Swalin, touched at 1:57.35.

Migues completed the 100 Back in 58.56 and 24.73 in the 50 Free to take first-place in both events.

McGhee earned her first top finish of the day in the 200 Fly, with a time of 2:09.50, and the second in the 100 Fly with a time of 58.72.

Taking first place for the Tigers in the 200 Breast was McGowan who finished with a time of 2:27.90.

Albiston recorded her second first-place finish during the 500 Free, completing the race in 5:09.21. The next one to finish was Leah Felber for Bakersfield, who touched the wall at 5:23.03.

Swalin capped off the day for Pacific, as she took first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:14.01, with McGowan taking second-place at 2:15.33.

The Tigers are back in action on November 7 at Chris Kjeldsen Pool to take on University of Denver at 11 a.m.
