Simi Valley, California - Thanks in no small part to Alex Johnson's career-best 66 in the first round of the Bill Cullum Invitational the Tigers took a 12-shot lead into the final round at Wood Ranch Country Club. Johnson backed up his six-under round with a 68 in the afternoon and cruised out to a five-shot lead entering tomorrow's final round.
The Tigers put together a round for the ages as Johnson's 66 was joined by Danny Garcia's 69 and Ben Bauch and Patrick Kucich's 72's. The Tigers closed out the first round at -9, 279. The Tigers kept their hot play going in the second round as Kucich (71), Bordeaux (70) and Bauch (72) all joined Johnson under par. Pacific's seven-under 281 moved the Tigers to a 36-hole total of 560.
Final round play concludes tomorrow morning with tee-times beginning at 8:00 a.m.
