Long Beach, California - As darkness fell at Virginia Country Club and played was called with the second round nearly in the books, the Tigers found themselves in 8th place thanks to a suprise contribution from a first time player.

Ben Bauch, making his first-ever collegiate start shot even-par 70 in the morning and then was on his was to a 67 in the afternoon with one hole to play when the day was called due to darkness. Bauch, playing alongside roommate Danny Garcia showed little hesitation in his first tournament. In the play-six, count-five format the Tigers played with another teammate in fourseome, unusual in college golf.
