Albuquerque, New Mexico -
The Pacific golf team opened their fall season with an 11th place finish at the William Tucker Invitational, Saturday. The Tigers posted rounds of 302-300-306 at New Mexico's Championship Course. Sophomore Alex Johnson battled back from an opening round 77 to shoot a 74-73 while fellow sophomore Alex Grieb finished with a 77-74.
Johnson's 29th place and Grieb's 37th kept the Tigers around the middle of the pack but sophomore TJ Bordeaux struggled to a 54-hole score of 229 while senior Charlie Van Sicklen shot a 233 and freshman Danny Garcia a 236 for the two-day tournament.
"Unfortunately this was a tough week for the Tigers," said head coach Brandon Goethals. "I can promise you this, if we plan on competing on a national level this is not going to get it done."
The Tigers head straight from Albuquerque to Seattle, Washington for the Husky Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.
