Tigers Fall to No. 56 UC Santa Barbara, 6-1

Santa Barbara, Calif. - The Pacific men's tennis team dropped their first Big West match of the year on April 6, when they fell to No. 56 UC Santa Barbara in Santa Barbara, Calif. by a score of 6-1. With the loss, the Tigers fell to 9-8 overall on the year and to 3-1 in Big West conference play, while the Gauchos improved their record to 11-6 on the year and are now 4-1 in Big West action with their victory.

Senior Moritz Starke (Bamberg, Germany) earned the Tigers' lone victory on the afternoon as he defeated UC Santa Barbara's Philip Therp at the No. 1 singles position 7-6, 5-7 (10-4). With the win, Starke is now 10-5 on the year in singles competition, playing all but two of his matches at the No. 1 position.

The Tigers will next be in action on April 9, when they take on San Francisco at the Hal Nelson Tennis Courts in Stockton, Calif. The match will start at 4:00 p.m.
