Ja-Neil Bragg Closes Out Pacific Career With 25th Place Finish in 400 IM at NCAA Championships

March 21, 2008

Columbus, Ohio - - Senior Ja-Neil Bragg (Manteca, Calif.) closed out her illustrious Pacific career finishing 25th in the 400 IM at the NCAA Championships on Friday, Mar. 21.

Ja-Neil's preliminary time of 4:15.49 was just faster than the record setting time she delivered of 4:14.81 during the preliminary round of the Nike Cup held November 16th in Long Beach, Calif. That mark set a new Pacific record in the 400 IM.

"Today was a great swim for Ja-Neil. She finished 25th and just outside of All-American status," said Pacific head coach Greg Meehan. "This performance is two seconds faster than she has ever been at the NCAA Championships and I am real proud of her effort."

Bragg has chosen not to participate in the 200 Fly on Saturday, in order to focus on her long course efforts on Sunday, Mar. 23.
