Final Stats
Long Beach, Calif. - Pacific senior Ja-Neil Bragg (Manteca, Calif.) and junior Jenny Lewis (Hesperia, Calif.) each posted second place finishes to lead the Pacific women's swim team as the Tigers moved into second place after the second day of competition at the Big West Swimming Championships on Thursday, Feb. 21.
Bragg, who has already qualified for the NCAA Championships later this season, was touched out in the 200 IM by UC Santa Barbara's Katlin Freeman as Bragg finished in 2:02.01, while Freeman won the event with a time of 2:01.52.
In the ensuing event, the 50 Free, Lewis posted a time of 23.21 to finsih second to UC Santa Barbara's Anne May (22.21).
Although the Tigers did not capture any individual championships, Pacific moved up to second place overall after entering Thursday in third place as a team
"We had a really good evening session after a bit of a sluggish morning. We are in a battle for second place in both the men's and the women's meets and we need a strong morning tomorrow," said head coach Greg Meehan.
The two other events concluded on Thursday were the 500 Free and the 400 Medley Relay.
The Tigers will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 22 as the following events will be held. 400 IM, 100 Fly, 200 Free, 100 Breast, 100 Back, and the 200 Free Relay.
