Davis, Calif. - The Pacific women's swimming team picked up two victories over Big West rivals on Saturday, Jan. 19 as the Tigers defeated Cal Poly, 180-111, and downed UC Davis, 172-122.
Following Saturday's action the Tigers moved to 3-2 this season in dual meets and 2-0 against Big West opponents.
The Tigers dominated both of their opponents on Saturday as Pacific swimmers earned 12 victories in the 14 events they participated in.
Junior Jenny Lewis (Hesperia, Calif.) was a big factor the Tigers on Saturday factoring in three of Pacific's event victories. Lewis captured back-to-back events by winning the 50 Free in 23.94, then moments later she nabbed the 100 Free in 52.06.
Seniors Ja-Neil Bragg (Manteca, Calif.) and Ziada Jardine (Cape Town, South Africa) both continued their stellar career at Pacific as the duo matched Lewis' contributions with two individual victories as well as teaming with Lewis for a win in the 200 Medley Relay.
Bragg swam the anchor of the 200 Medley Relay and collected victories in the 200 Free and the 200 IM. Jardine, meanwhile, took home the 100 and 200 Breatstroke.
The Tigers return to the pool on Feb. 2 as Pacific hosts UC Santa Barbara at 12 p.m. in Chris Kjeldsen Pool.
