Eugene, Oregon -
Playing against arguably the toughest tournament field of the season the Tigers finished day one of the Oregon Duck Invitational in 12th place after shooting rounds of 322 and 307. Petersson was the lone bright spot for the Tigers, shooting an even par second round score to sit in a tie for 38th place.
Chilly conditions and intermittent showers greeted the predominantly Pac-10 field at Eugene Country Club. Petersson struggled to a first round 79 but bounced back in the afternoon with a 72. Freshman Patrick Kucich carded a 160 while juniors Chris Rosenau and A.J. Hohn each shot a combined 161 on the day. Sophomore Charlie Van Sicklen rounded out the field for the Tigers with an 84-78=162.
Sixth ranked Southern Cal took the 36-hole lead by shooting rounds of 282 and 295 at the 7,033-yard course. The third round begins tomorrow, March 27th, at 8:00 am.
