Tigers Post Lowest Team Round with 281 in Hawaii

Feb. 8, 2007

Waikoloa, Hawaii - The Pacific golf team finished the second round at the UH Hilo Intercollegiate with their best round as a team by firing a 281 Thursday morning. The Tigers are currently in 14th place for the tournament at five over par going into tomorrows final eighteen.

Senior Thomas Petersson stayed among the individual leaders through 36-holes by shooting a second round two-under 68. The Swedish-born Petersson sits in seventh place just four strokes back from last years' national champion Jonathan Moore of Oklahoma State who shot a second round 62 and six back of the overall lead which Tringale of Georgia Tech holds at 64-64.

Pacific's 281 came with Petersson's 68 as well as 71's from junior Chris Rosenau, Charlie Van Sicklen and Bayhaan Lakdawala. Patrick Kucich chipped in with a second round 75.

"This team is definitely moving in the right direction," said Goethals. "I was again very impressed with the team's attitude and work ethic today. Hopefully we can carry that into tomorrow."

The Tigers tee-off tomorrow morning at 9:40 PST.
