Tigers Topped By No. 71 Arkansas, 7-0

Fresno, Calif. - The Pacific men's tennis team suffered a 7-0 loss to No. 71 Arkansas at Fresno State on Saturday, February 24. The loss dropped the Tigers to 0-5 on the young season.

For the first time this season, sophomore Moritz Starke (Bamberg, Germany) suffered defeat at the No. 1 position for the Tigers, falling to No. 22 Blake Strode in straight sets in singles competition. Starke feel in a first set tie-breaker to Strode 7-6 (7-2) before dropping the final set 6-1. Freshman Chase Oliphant (Indio, Calif.) was the lone Tigers to capture a set on the day, taking Gabriel Mattos to three sets before succumbing 7-5, 3-6, 7-6 at the No. 5 spot.

Pacific will again be in action on Sunday, February 25 as they take on No. 41 Fresno State on the road. The match is slated to begin at 12:00 pm.
