Tigers in 13th After First Round of Pacific Invitational

Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific men's golf team is in 13th place after the first round of the Pacific Invitational at Brookside Country Club in Stockton, Calif. on Monday, Nov. 5.

Kansas State shot a first round 273 (-15) to hold a two stroke lead over Marquette after day one.

Individually, Cal State Northridge's Nick Delio and Charlotte's Stefan Wiedergruen each shot a six-under-par 66 to share the lead after the first round.

Senior Charlie Van Sicklen (Lodi, Calif.) led the Tigers with a first round 69. Freshman Alex Johnson (Tucson, Ariz.) shot a one-under-par 71.

"Charlie had a solid round today, but as a team we just left a lot of shots out there," said Pacific head coach Brandon Goethals. "Hopefully we can make up some ground tomorrow."

Round two will be played on Tuesday, Nov. 6 at Brookside Country Club.
