Long Beach, Calif. - Led by a first place finish in the 400 Medley Relay, the Pacific women's swim team is in third place after the first day of action at the 19-team Nike Cup Invitational on Thursday, Nov. 15.

The quartet of junior Jenny Lewis (Hesperia, Calif.), senior Ziada Jardine (Capetown, South Africa), senior Kristin Okazaki (Auburn, Wash.) and senior Ja-Neil Bragg (Manteca, Calif.) closed the evening on a tremendous high note as Pacific claimed the 400 Medley Relay with a time of 03:46.46. Pacific's relay team bested second place Rice by more than four seconds as the Owls finished in second place with a time of 03:50.96.

The relay victory was the only win for the Tigers' women's or men's teams.

Although the Tigers did not reach any individual victories, Bragg and Lewis delivered impressive performances. Bragg placed second in the 200 IM with a time of 2:00.69, just .35 seconds away from automatically qualifying for the NCAA Championships. Lewis, meanwhile, placed third in the 50 Free with a time of 23.12 seconds.

The Tigers will continue to compete in the Nike Cup Invitational on Friday, Nov. 16.
