Pacific Finishes Third at the TYR / Pacific Invitational

Final Results

Roseville, Calif. - Despite a strong showing on the second day of action at the TYR / Pacific Invitational, the Pacific women's swim team finished in third place on Saturday, Oct. 20.

The California Golden Bears earned the tournament victory with 808.50 points on Saturday alone. Oregon State finished second with 626.50 points, followed by the Tigers with 603 points, Nevada with 517 points and UC Davis in fifth place with 359 points.

Trailing first place Oregon State by 47.50 points when the meet began on Saturday, the Tigers made up significant ground on the Beavers and just missed taking second place.

Seniors Ja-Neil Bragg (Manteca, Calif.) and Ziada Jardine (Capetown, South Africa) led the overall performance for Pacific as each swimmer earned an individual second place finish. Bragg nabbed Pacific's first runner-up placement in the 200 IM with a time of 2:03.75. Bragg was narrowly touched out by Cal's Emily Silver, who finished with a time of 2:03.69.

Jardine garnered second place in the 200 Breast in 2:22.15 as Alexandra Ellis of Cal won the event in 2:20.62.

The Tigers return to action on Friday, Nov. 2 as Pacific competes in the two-day Washington State Invitational.
