Roseville, Calif. - Behind victories in the first four events, the Pacific women's swim team sits in third place after day one of the TYR / Pacific Invitational on Friday, Oct. 19.
Oregon State leads the tournament with 349.50 points, Nevada is in second place with 323.50 points, Pacific stands in third with 302 points and UC Davis is currently in fourth with 249 points.
Pacific took the first event of the tournament as the Tigers women's 200 Free Relay team posted a 1:47.07 time. The team of junior Jenny Lewis (Hesperia, Calif.), senior Ziada Jardine (Cape Town, South Africa), senior Kristin Okazaki (Auburn, Wash.) and senior Ja-Neil Bragg (Manteca, Calif.) earned the victory by just .24 seconds.
Bragg continued Pacific's early winning streak in the 200 Free as she nabbed a victory with a time of 1:50.73. Moments later Bragg earned her third victory of the event with a win in the 400 IM. Ja-Neil's time of 4:17.98 was just under six seconds faster then second place.
Lewis rounded out the Tigers quick start to the TYR / Pacific Invitational as Jenny claimed the 50 Free in 23.85.
The Tigers and the rest of the TYR / Pacific Invitational return to the pool tomorrow as the tournament resumes on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 12 p.m.
