Tigers Finish Day One At The Prestige

Oct. 15, 2007

Palm Springs, Calif. - Junior Charles Van Sicklen (Stockton, Calif.) finished day one at The Prestige, hosted by UC Davis and Stanford, in a tie for 37th place with rounds of 75 and 72 to finish 3-over par on Monday, October 15. The Tigers completed day one in 15th place, posting a 306-290 at on the Greg Norman Course at PGA West. Charlotte finished the opening two rounds in first place at 10-under par while Central Florida finished as the only other team under par for the day at 6-under par.

Freshman T.J. Bordeaux (Tacoma, Wash.) tied Van Sicklen for the team lead with an even-par, 72, in round two to help the Tigers to their 290 team score, fifth best team round of the afternoon. Bordeaux's 72 came after an unfortunate disqualification in round one for an illegal drop. Despite the disqualification, Bordeaux's final two round scores will count towards the team's overall score.

Behind Van Sicklen, freshman Alex Grieb (San Diego, Calif.) finished the day in a tie for 49th with scores of 73 and 77 for a two round score of 5-over par. Freshman Alex Johnson (Tucson, Ariz.) finished the day at 7-over par as he also finished round two with an even par, 72. Senior Chris Rosenau (Redding, Calif.) came in at 9-over for the day.

The Tigers finish The Prestige tomorrow, October 16 as they tee-off the third and final round.
