Beaumont, Calif. - The Pacific golf team finished the Braveheart Classic in 17th, Tuesday, March 7. Led by freshman Charles Van Sicklen's 230 the Tigers posted a 54-hole score of 313-306-316=935 at the Oak Glen Golf Course.

Van Sicklen shot a 74-78 and a final round 78 to finish tied for 58th at the par 72, 7,003-yard course. Junior Thomas Petersson and sophomore A.J. Hohn both shot 234's to tie for 71st place. Also finishing for Pacific was sophomore Chris Rosenau, shooting a 237 and freshman Adam Beckman (249).

"We just flat-out need to play better golf than we did this week," said head coach Brandon Goethals. "We're going to put this behind us and get to work this week. How we played was unacceptable."

UCLA took home the team title with an amazing 291-286-288=865; a combined single stroke over par. The Bruins were buoyed by individual winner Chris Heintz who carded a 69-70-70=209.

The Tigers will compete in the Diablo Grande Intercollegiate next Monday and Tuesday.
