The Pacific golf team completed only the first round of the Braveheart Classic due to darkness, Monday, March 6. The Tigers shot a 313, good for 18th place after 18-holes at the Oak Glen Golf Course.
Freshman Charles Van Sicklen paced the Tigers with a first round 74 at the 7,003-yard, par 72 course. Sophomore's Chris Rosenau and A.J. Hohn both completed rounds of 79 before play was suspended due to darkness.
Junior Thomas Petersson and freshman Adam Beckman carded rounds of 81 and 82 as the Tigers remain 24-strokes off the lead.
Loyola-Marymount shot the best opening round, a 289 to put them in first place after day one.
Jacksonville's Jamie Kennedy was the low scorer on the day, shooting a four-under 68, besting Chris Heintz of UCLA by a single stroke.
Second and third rounds will take place early Tuesday and concluded Tuesday night.
