Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific Tigers men's tennis team captured a 5-2 win over Big West Conference rival, UC Riverside, on Sunday, Feb. 19.
With the win the Tigers moved to 6-2 on the season and 2-0 in the Big West Conference, while UC Riverside fell to 4-4 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Junior Vladimir Zdravkovic (Pancevo, Serbia and Montenegro) paced the Tigers as he grabbed a quick, 6-2, 6-0, victory over Justin Montgomery at the No. 3 position.
Senior Jorgen Vestli (Hamar, Norway) dropped just three games en route to a 6-2, 6-1 win over Mark Contreras at the No. 2 spot.
Earlier in the match, the duo of Vestli and Zdravkovic claimed the top doubles match, 8-4, over Contreras and Christian Frick.
Senior Arnar Sigurdsson (Kopavogur, Iceland) also dropped only three games in his second match back at the No. 1 spot, defeating Norman Tam, 6-3, 6-0.
The Tigers will be back in action on Friday, Feb. 24 as the Tigers host BYU at 1 p.m.
