Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific Tigers men's tennis team moved to 5-2 on the season with a 6-1 win over Saint Mary's on Saturday, Feb. 18.
The loss dropped the Gaels to 1-4 on the season.
Returning to the No. 1 position for the first time this spring, senior Arnar Sigurdsson (Kopavogur, Iceland) defeated Julien Tizot 6-2, 6-1. Junior Vladimir Zdravkovic (Pancevo, Serbia and Montenegro), meanwhile, was flawless in a 6-0, 6-0 win over Adam Fauvre.
Freshman Moritz Starke (Bamberg, Germany) also gave the Tigers a lift as he won his second consecutive singles match, 6-2, 6-1 over Alp Ozpinar at the No. 6 position. Starke is 2-0 this season in singles play.
The Tigers will be back in action on Sunday, Feb. 19 as Pacific hosts Big West Conference rival UC Riverside at 1 p.m.
