Stockton, Calif. - Play concluded at the Food4Less Pacific Invitational with the Pacific golf team finishing in 11th place on Wednesday, November 8, at Brookside Country Club. The Tigers shot a 22-over, 886, for the three day tournament.
The overall championship went to Brigham Young as the Cougars came in at 34-under, 830, for the three day event. In addition, the Cougars took home the individual championship as Clay Ogden played 5-under, 67, in the final round to leap to the top of the leaderboard over his teammate Daniel Summerhays. Ogden finished at 12-under, 204, one better than Summerhays' 11-under, 205. Summerhays had held the overall lead the previous two rounds of play.
For the Tigers, sophomore Charles Van Sicklen (Lodi, Calif.) finished in a tie for 13th place overall as he completed the three round tournament at 2-under, 214. Van Sicklen played the final round at 2-over, 74.
Tied with Van Sicklen for the team lead in day three was senior Thomas Petersson (Stockholm, Sweden) who also carded a 2-over, 74, in final round action. Petersson completed the tournament in a tie for 31st overall as he finished at 3-over, 219.
The Tigers will next be in action on February 7, 2007 as they travel to Hilo, Hawaii to take part in the University of Hawai'i - Hilo Invitational.
