Second Day Struggles Have The Tigers At 12-Over At The Food4Less Pacific Invitational

Stockton, Calif. - The Pacific golf team completed the second day of competition at their Food4Less Pacific Invitational on Tuesday, November 7, shooting a second round score of 297, +9. The overall team lead is held by Brigham Young which is 22-under, 554, after two rounds. Individually, three players are tied at 9-under, 135, including Brigham Young's Daniel Summerhays, the first round leader, John Chin of UC Irvine and Erik Petersen of Rice University.

For the Tigers, senior Thomas Petersson (Stockholm, Sweden) led the way in day two, coming in with a 1-under, 71. For the tournament, Petersson is tied at 33rd as he has shot a 145, +1.

Overall, sophomore Charles Van Sicklen (Lodi, Calif.) is 4-under to lead the Tigers after shooting an even par, 72, on the second day of action. During the round, Van Sicklen recorded an eagle-3 on the par-5, 559 yard hole No. 16. It was one of three eagles during the day including an eagle-2 on the par-4, 420 yard hole No. 15 by Rice's Kyle Kelley.

The Tigers and the rest of the 12 team field complete the three day Food4Less Pacific Invitational tomorrow, Wednesday, November 8, as they play the final round at Brookside Country Club. The Tigers are among the first teams to tee-off at 8:00 am.
